1913 commercial cover with Bishop's mitre on the flap, to Kent with unusual franking of Monocolours ½d (rounded corner) & a second single with 'JBC' Monogram tied by 'SAMARAI/20MY1913/PAPUA' cds, minor faults. [How many covers, even philatelic ones, have you seen with a monogram franking?]
1918 correctly rated James cover to Adelaide with scarce franking of Monocolours 4d olive & 'ONE PENNY' on 2/6d crimson tied by 'DARU WD' cds, very fine boxed 'Registered/Daru No ("38")' h/s in violet, registered b/s of Brisbane in magenta & Adelaide, minor blemishes.
1919 Wilson cover with scarce albeit philatelic franking of Bicolours 5/- tied by 'IOMA/27JAN19/PAPUA' cds, superb straight-line 'REGISTERED' h/s, Sydney & London transit b/s, minor blemishes.
1940 (Mar 6) commercial airmail cover to Surrey with Pictorials 3d x3 & 6d + 1939 Airs 3d blue tied by Samarai cds, complete red/white 'OPENED BY CENSOR' label with Censor's initials in red pencil. A very scarce make-up of the 1/6d rate. [Endorsed on the flap "Frm MK Abel/Kwato/Samarai". Kwato is an island in Milne Bay where, in 1891, Rev Charles Abel - the sender's grandfather (?) - founded a Mission Station]
POSTMARKS: 10-bar 'B.N.G' cancel of Kulumadau (Lee #60; rated E) two large-part inverted strikes on BNG 4d pair with 'WOODLARKS/NO24/{"03"}/BNG' cds (#59; rated F) alongside on registered piece. [Noted as having "RPS Cert 69683", now lost]
POSTMARKS: 'TAHIRA/30OC26/PAPUA' superb central strike on Bicolours ½d block of 4 on Spychiger cover, horizontal & vertical folds well clear of the stamps.

REGISTRATION ENVELOPES: 1917 'PAPUA' 4d orange size G on old NSW stock with Red Device across the Stamp Box on the Flap (as used for Australian KGV issues), unused. [This is an item that should be included in every collection of Australian & New South Wales postal stationery]
