1927 Opening of Federal Parliament House 1½d vertical pair Imperforate Between ACSC #132b (SG 105a), above-average centring for this error, ironed-out creasing at lower-left corner, very lightly mounted & very fresh, Cat $5000 (£5500). [The ACSC states "22 pairs have been identified...[including] a block of 4 in the Royal Collection & a pair in the Australia Post Archives..." Most pairs have obvious faults. Arthur Grey's pair - minor crease at upper-left - sold for $5078]
1927 Opening of Federal Parliament House 1½d lake horizontal pair show Strong Offset on the first unit & partial on the second unit, unmounted. Unlisted in the ACSC. [Geoff Kellow at page 57 states "...all examples seen are over the gum, and therefore caused by transfer of ink by pressure in stacks of finished sheets". However, Colin Clark-Hutchison had a used example with no gum that proved the offset occurred before the sheet was gummed: see our auction of 22.6.2019]
