DISCOVERY cachet, addressed to Karachi, India with NZ 1d Universal cancelled Christchurch 25 April 1904 & Karachi 2 June arrival cancel. Card has rounded corners, scarce nonetheless.

NZ 1932 (15 July) NZ-Karachi-Cairo (Imperial Airways) & then to Bulwayo & to Lagos in West Africa. One of only 46 flown covers to Rhodesia & Nyasaland, with explanatory article. Scarce. NZAMC 80b.

NZ 1936 (16 March) specially printed FFCs x 2 matching, by Cook Strait Airways, Wellington to Nelson & Blenheim to Nelson. To same Christchurch address, franked only 2 x 1d 1935 Air (correct rate was 3d). With 2d Postage Due added & canc undated B-type cds. Incorrect "5 MR 36" Nelson b/s obliterated by old barred "N" h/s. NZAMC 126d, f. Very fine.

With pink flight cachet & San Francisco b/s 6 Jan. Very decorative cover, with PanAm eagle logo, Kiwi & mountains, city & island scenes, & imperf real photo cinderella label (flying boat moored among yachts). NZAMC #178c. Good condition.

NZ 1938 (1 Jan) PanAm "Clipper" survey flight Auckland to Pago Pago, Samoa (franked 1s 2d), canc Wellington cds 28 DE 37 & with violet flight cachet, b/s Pago Pago machine d/s JAN 1 1938. Also similar cover (long, registered) Auckland to San Francisco (franked 4s 10d), canc Inglewood cds 28 DE 37, b/s San Francisco cds JAN 6 1938, with red flight cachet. NZAMC 178a, c, cat $80. Very good condition. Captain Musick & crew were killed 11 Jan when the plane crashed on the return flight (leaving Pago Pago).
