1996 Health (Road Safety) Teddy Bear M/S as SG MS2002 but from the original printing with the Teddy Bear & Baby Facing Forwards and 'SC 439' at upper-left, unmounted, STC €12,000. See Gibbons' footnote. Unlisted by Campbell Paterson. [The design caused an outcry because the baby should have been facing the rear of the car to comply with safety regulations. The stamps were immediately withdrawn & redesigned. However, some were released "in error". According to our sources, the original M/Ss had been inadvertently distributed by the printers, Enschedé in the Netherlands, to their staff after the recall was announced. Examples sold at the Prestige auctions of 9.2.2008 & 30.3.2012 for $2415 & $1840 respectively]

1915 usage of a British (?) advertising PPC for Deakin's Superior Jams & Marmalades with part Infantry Brigade cds & Censor #2640 cachet in rosine countersigned "JH Statham", minor separation defects at top hardly detract. The message states "This is the sort of jam we get to eat 1 tin to 4 men not much for 24 hours. I don't think your teeth could eat the hard biscuits we have. These post-cards come eight in a box of jam..." [Considering the extreme shortage of writing paper, it is amazing that such cards are not common. In fact, only one other Anzac example, from an Australian soldier, has been recorded]
