O3, 1892 2?d Ultramarine, Perf 11, 'O.P.S.O.' overprint in violet,  tied on "OPSO" cover with Post & Telegraph Dept Imprint addressed to Yokohama and forwarded to Manila, "Wellington/ N.Z./ 15 AP 99" cds, Yokohama and very light Mil Sta/Manila arrival cancels and an ms "Discharged/ Address unknown" at left, multiple backstamps with Honolulu Apr 29, Yokohama May 17, Kobe May 18, Hong Kong Ma 2_ and finally "Mil Sta No. 1 " June 2 and June 3, NZ Post and Telegraph embossed seal on backflap, repaired/ restored bottom left corner with portion of imprint added by hand (done since issuance of certificate), an o/w Fine and rare use, cover addressed to a sailor (R. Lambert, salimaker's mate) on the Navy cruiser USS Boston then tasked with maintaining order in the Philippines after the Spanish-American War; signed Sismondo and with his 2006 certificate (SG O11)

O7, O7 var., 1892 1d Rose red, Perf 11, 'O.S.P.O.' overprint, pair, left stamp overprint in rose and violet, right stamp overprint in violet, fresh color, o.g., Fine, the rose overprint on the left stamp could not be seen clearly so the additional violet overprint was applied, this is the only known and a unique double overprint on this issue; each stamp signed Sismondo and with his 2006 certificate for the pair (when stamp listed as SG O5) (SG O7, O7 var., unpriced for mint in Scott or SG)

O9, 1889 ?d Black, Perf 10x11, 'O.P.S.O.' overprint, eye-catching irregular block of thirteen, dist o.g. with some h.r., usual rough perfs, a Fine showpiece, unused singles, and especially multiples, are quite rare, this being largest known multiple of this issue with next largest being a block of six; 1971 BPA certificate (SG O4; unpriced for mint in Scott or SG, 10,400 pounds as used)

MOSTLY MINT NEW ZEALAND 1862-2001 COLLECTION, in two Scott albums; Volume I starts with some earlies (mint unless otherwise noted) such as 1863 (14d, used), 1864-67 (33a, used), 1871 (39-40, unused, no gum & 42), 1874 (51-54, plus several perf. varieties), followed by fresh sets, part sets & singles such as 1898 (70-82), 1899-1900 (88-98), 1902-07 (107-119), 1907-09 (126-28), 1909-12 (131-39), 1915-22 (145-59), 1935 (185-98, set of fourteen), 1958 (320), 1973 (519var, "New Zealand" double) & 1985 Christmas Errors (836var & 838var). Volume II begins with some postal-fiscal used stamps (AR1, AR6, AR21, AR25, AR30), followed by Semi postal section with 1931 (B3-4), several sheetlets of six; Airmails 1931-35 (C1-8); Special Delivery 1903 (E1 & E1a), and then by useful Officials 1910 (O33-37), 1911-14 (O38-39), 1915-19 (O41-50), 1922-25 (O51-53), 1927-28 (O55-56), 1936-42 (O61-71), 1940 (O76-86, several vertical pairs with one stamp showing "face-free" joined), Life Insurance Department sets and a section with a fair number of complete and unexploded booklets issued in the 1950s-1980s period. Great for continuation or break down, generally F-VF.
