1862-64 QV Chalon 3d black, Perkins Bacon original DIE PROOF, on India paper on card 29x36mm. Superb fresh UN as made. SG 40(p). The dies & plates for the 3d value were prepared in 1862 by Perkins Bacon in London, & plates then sent to Auckland for printing of the issued stamps. This is an original die proof of final design, printed in London from the die which was then used to prepare the printing plate. Extremely rare with only several recorded. 2017 RPSL photo-cert. (P)
