1859 2p blue Queen Victoria on bluish paper, prepared from the original 1848 plate and re-engraved by Sherwin, this stamp is enhanced by a central PAID in circle postmark. Accompanied by 2007 Sergio Sismondo certificate "genuine, postally used, but has been extensively repaired over tears and thins. The stamp corresponds to Position 5 in the setting of 12 subjects". The stamp has tight margins which touch the frame on two sides. The repairs are mostly subtle and not easily detected except the tear through the G of postage. A useful spacefiller of this iconic classic stamp. (Image)
