[Apparently the German firm Behn Meyer & Co provided services to passengers on German ships visiting Penang]

STRAITS SETTLEMENTS: 1939 (Dec 11) packet wrapper to "Wau/New Guinea" with very scarce franking of KGVI $5 $2 40c x2 & 5c (another stamp missing?) tied by Singapore cds, blue & black/white R label, part-'WAU/NEW GUINEA' arrival cds from where forwarded to Townsville (Qld), minor blemishes but the $5 is very fine. A remarkable survivor: it appears from our attempts to refold the piece, that essentially the entire wrapping is present!
