MAY 1844 - RARE EARLY 1844 CANCEL ON 2d LETTERSHEET - stereo a103 (opening faults, small tear at lower right) to Bawtry cancelled with London chief office 14 numeral, London cds on the back for May 1844, the day is unreadable (20?) but with this series of London cancel only being used from 17 May this is a very early use indeed (and possibly the earliest known London numeral on a 2d Mulready?).
