RARE 1840 'BY POST' CONTEMPORARY IMITATION PLUS TWO DERAEDEMAEKER REPRINTS - imitation of the Spooner No. 5 'By Post' envelope but with 'No 1' and 'REJECTED DESIGN'S FOR THE POSTAGE ENVELOPE' imprint on the flap. Close to fine, just some very light tone spotting and a red mark at top left. Fewer than ten recorded. Plus Deraedemaeker reprints of Fores's Civic Envelope and of the Menzies envelope. (3) (Image)

SOUTHGATE - UNUSED ENV. TRIO Nos. 1, 4 & 5 - "Pickpocket" of fresh appearance, light horiz. crease & hinge remains on the back; "Blarney Stone" very fine and fresh on both sides; and "Pickwick" minor toning mainly on the back & hinge remains. (3) (Image)
