1836-1855: Five covers from India to England or vice versa, with 1836 letter to Bombay bearing boxed forwarder cachet "FORWARDED BY/THOs HAVISIDE & Co/..." (recorded 1834-36), an 1841 letter from England to Calcutta, 1844 letter Bombay-London, 1852 letter from Whitestone to Simla via Bombay & Lahore (datestamps), and 1855 letter from Sattara to England franked by two singles of lithographed ½a. blue and a meanwhile missing adhesive (probably a 1a. which would have completed the 2a. inland fee), in mixed condition. In addition, an 1839 letter of the Bank of Scotland used locally within Edinburgh.
