2d grey with the Watermark Inverted Plate 1 'CA' Monogram block of 6 with Retouched Left Frame ACSC #7(1)z, a couple of tiny tonespots well clear of the lower units which are unmounted, Cat $17,500++ for mounted 'CA' Monogram strip of 3. Ex Arthur Gray: sold in 2007 for US$8337. [Believed to be the only block recorded with the Pre-Substituted Cliché. Unit L55 developed a major plate scratch which caused it to be substituted]
2d grey Die IIA with the Watermark Inverted ACSC #8a (SG 35daw), a few nibbled perfs, Adelaide cds, Cat $10,000 (£10,000). [The ACSC states that four examples, all used, have been recorded. An example is noted as having been sold at a Perth auction for $12,100]

Cat No:13E(1)zb
3d olive-green Plate 1 'JBC' Monogram block of 6 ACSC #13E(1)zb, some minor storage marks & gum bends, the monogram strip of 3 is unmounted, Cat $6200+.
3d olive-green Plate 2 'JBC' Monogram block of 6 (3x2) ACSC #13(2)zb, lovely deep shade #13K, the left-hand units with really faint toning, unmounted, Cat $4450+ (mounted). Arthur Gray's similar 'CA' block of 6 - one unit VLMtd - sold US$4312.
6d blue with Bite Out of Kangaroo's Left Leg [Pos 2L17] State II (No Grass Between Kangaroo's Legs) ACSC #19B(2)da, a couple of short perfs, indistinct Brisbane cancel clear of the variety, Cat $2250.
John Bozic, writing in the BSAP "Bulletin" (Aug 2004) recorded 4 mint examples (one in the Australia Post collection) & 8 used (2 with Australia Post) - across both States - and concluded "I place this variety in the same class of rarity as the 2½d Missing Fraction", which is catalogued at $65,000 mint & $30,000 used. Given that the so-called "Missing Fraction" is an ink-clogging variety and the "Bite" is a major plate flaw, we believe that this item should be rated higher than the more famous item.
6d dull blue Plate 2 Two-Line TS Harrison Imprint pair ACSC #19(2)zh, exceptional centring for an imprint pair, however rather aged with toned gum, Cat $12,000. Ex 'Besancon' (II) where described as "fresh & very fine...slightly browned o.g." [The ACSC states that, apart from the High Values, this is the rarest Kangaroos imprint]
6d brown block of 4 with 2mm wide Void Area affecting three units, the first stamp is lightly mounted otherwise unmounted, Cat $440++. Ex Julian Sterling. [The printing was over a stray piece of paper which, when removed, exposed the void area. A nice freak!]
6d brown imprint blocks of 4 comprising Plate 3 Harrison, Mullett and Ash, and Plate 4 Mullett, ACSC #21(3)z zd & zf and #21(4)zb, each block with two or three units unmounted, Cat $2450.
