6d ultramarine Die II monogram pair the left-hand unit with Plate 2 'CA' monogram ACSC #19(2)ze (substituted for 'JBC'; shaved marginal line) and minor creasing, the right-hand unit with a few faults, fine 'MELBOURNE/ 22 /7JL19/VICTORIA' cds, extremely rare intact commercially used example, Cat $4000 for mounted mint single.
6d grey-blue Die IIA Substituted Cliché ACSC #19(1)ja with vertical marginal watermark line at left, slightly rounded corner at lower right, Adelaide cds cancel well clear of frame break, Cat $3750.
6d blue with Bite out of the Kangaroo's Left Leg (Second State) BW #19(2)da, well centred, a few nibbled perfs, Adelaide cds well clear of the variety, Cat $2250.
John Bozic, writing in the BSAP "Bulletin" (Aug 2004) recorded 4 mint examples (one in the Australia Post collection) & 8 used (2 with Australia Post) - across both States - and concluded "I place this variety in the same class of rarity as the 2½d Missing Fraction", which is catalogued at $65,000 mint & $30,000 used. Given that the so-called "Missing Fraction" is an ink-clogging variety and the "Bite" is a major plate flaw, we believe that this item should be rated higher than the more famous item.

SPECIMEN OVERPRINTS: 10/- (well centred), £1 grey & £2 all with Type C overprint, variable centring, very lightly mounted & the £1 appears to be unmounted, Cat $3675. [The 10/- is a very scarce stamp, with only 360 - three sheets - being printed. - 10/- grey & pale "aniline" pink with Type C 'SPECIMEN' Overprint ACSC #48xb, exceptional centring, a few slightly nibbled perfs & a single tonespot, unmounted. A rare stamp, of which only 360 were printed. [The ACSC does not price this stamp unmounted; mounted is $3250. However, in the 2004 edition, prices of $2500 for mounted & $5000 for unmounted were given]
- £1 grey Type C with Shaved 'P' ACSC #53xe, well centred, unmounted, Cat $1000+ (mounted; unpriced unmounted). [Aubrey Pitt's similar example sold at the Prestige auction of 19.11.2011 for $1207]
PUNCTURED 'OS': 2d grey Plate 1 'CA' Monogram single BW #7ba(1)zb, unmounted, Cat $1800 (mounted). [The ACSC states "Prices for varieties with OS puncture are twice the price of unpunctured stamps"]
