1 July 1927 (AAMC.106) Cloncurry - Normanton registered cover, flown by QANTAS on their inaugural flight over this extension to their route, with the exceptional franking of a £1 Grey 3rd wmk Kangaroo. Hudson Fysh was the pilot. The cover is signed by the postmaster at Cloncurry.Although clearly philatelic in use, the 3rd wmk £1 Grey was the only Australian stamp of that denomination available for purchase at post offices between May 1924 and November 1935.
