1824-28 Entire letter and entires (2) all showing the re-use of the first type "JERSEY" scroll handstamp, one unusually with two strikes. Three fine examples of this re-use, which occurred in 1822-30. (3).

1830-51 Prestamp and stampless entire letters (8) and an entire all with Jersey double arc datestamps including 1834 entire letter written in St. Servan, France; 1838 entire letter prepaid 1/3 to Mauritius with red London Paid Ship Letter datestamp; 1847-48 entire letters prepaid to Oporto or Spain both with a red Jersey datestamp on the front; 1851 entire prepaid to Malta with the rate altered from 1/3 to 1/- and a blue Jersey datestamp obliterating the incorrect 1/3 rate, etc. Also two locally addressed 1839-41 entire letters delivered by hand. Skeleton c.d.s. 1845 (Nov 8) Entire letter prepaid 1/9 to Oporto with superb 35mm "JERSEY" skeleton c.d.s (with star at base) in red on the front, London Paid datestamp and blue Oporto arrival datestamp and "280" charge mark. Skeleton c.d.s. 1848 Entire franked 1d from Swansea to Jersey, backstamped upon arrival with second type unframed "JERSEY" skeleton datestamp (June 16) in red, applied across the flap, minor faults.

1856-78 Entire letter and covers addressed abroad comprising 1856 entire letter to USA with embossed 1/- green tied by "409" obliterator, 1869 covers franked 6d to Canada tied by Jersey 409 duplexs (2, one with seven Canadian backstamps), and 1878 cover to Hawaii with 2d blue plate 15 pair tied by Jersey 409 duplexs, the last an unusual destination. 1876-82 Covers to Cape Town bearing 1873-80 6d grey or 1/- green tied by Jersey 409 duplex, or 1880-83 6d grey (5 covers) all tied by Jersey squared circles, six covers from G. Luce, Eau de Cologne manufacturer, illustrated with prize medals won at Cape Town (1877) or Sydney (1879) exhibitions. (7).

1883-96 Covers (6) and postal stationery postcards (3) addressed abroad, all cancelled by Jersey squared circles, comprising 1883 cover to Cairo franked 21/2d blue, 1888 cover to New South Wales bearing six 1d lilacs, 1888 11/2d card to "Major Evans R.A, Boaz Island, Bermuda", 1889 11/2d card uprated 11/2d to Sydney, 1889-90 covers (2) to India franked 5d and 1894-96 covers (2) and a card to Cyprus, the three postcards with interesting messages regarding stamps (one offering used £5 orange at 17/6 each). 1887-92 Covers and cards with Jersey squared circle cancels, four unusual items comprising 1887 cover hand illustrated with a butterfly and flowers, 1890 Penny Postage Jubilee envelope used July 3rd (2nd day of issue but probably the first possible day it was available in the islands), 1894 Costa Rica 5c postal stationery envelope franked by a 1d lilac, and 1902 France 10c reply card sent via Granville. Registered Mail. 1893 Cover to France franked 1d pair + 2d + 3d + 10d and 1892 21/2d envelope to Scotland uprated 1/2d, all tied by "409" vertical oval obliterators with oval "REGISTERED / JERSEY" datestamps on the front and "DAVID PLACE / JERSEY" backstamps, the first with St. Malo transit c.d.s. 1840 (June 22) 1d Mulready envelope stereo A181 from London to Jersey cancelled by a red Maltese Cross, London backstamp; and 1841 (April 23) 1d Mulready lettersheet from Newcastle to Jersey cancelled by a fine black Maltese Cross, backstamped at Newcastle and London. The first with two seal stains, the second with pressed horizontal fold, two reasonable looking and scarce Mulready uses to the Channel Islands. (2).

1804 Entire letter from Thomas Lewis on board H.M.S "Anson" at Malta to Mrs Pipell in Guernsey, informing her that her husband had died in hospital from fever and the flux caught after being injured off the Slovakian coast a few weeks earlier.
