1817 (28 Mar): "KEDGEREE/POST OFFICE" double oval handstamp (Giles 1) + date in m/s on back of folded cover to Batavia 'per (ship) Baroness Van der Capellen' (noted). N.1 (Native Infantry) at Barelly to London via Calcutta and landed at Margate, bearing Calcutta G.P.O. triple-ring transit d/s, boxed "INDIA LETTER/MARGATE", London '17 Jan 1821' arrival cds (on back).
