1854 Litho 1a. dull red and typo 2a. green used on small cover from Myrzapore to London 'Via Bombay & Southampton - August 3rd' (endorsed in m/s), tied by indistinct diamond handstamp in black and "Stamped" in m/s, noted 'Stamped to Bombay' and bearing red "MYRZAPORE/4/AUG./1855" c.d.s., red "INDIA" in oval and charge mark on front, "BOMBAY G.P.O./AU 11/1855" transit cds in black and red London '24 Sep 55' arrival datestamps on the reverse. Adhesives with close to touched margins, the 2a. with a very short tear and light horiz. crease at top left, and the cover roughly opened with a short tear at top and into back-flap. However, an attractive cover with a nice franking from the Ganges eastwards through the country to Bombay and to London via Aden etc. (Image)

(Note: The 8a. adhesive = 1s. paying the British ship rate Calcutta-Alexandria where the letter was transferred to Austrian Lloyd ship to Trieste, and from there overland through Austria, charged "6" Kronen). ÷ 1861 Weitergeleiteter (Forwarded) Brief aus Calcutta, Indien an Ferdinand Schiller in HAMBURG via Triest, mit großem, blauem Ovalstempel "FORWARDED BY JOHN BORRADAILE & Co.
