1858, incoming mail, USA, entire folded letter dated "New York July 31st 1858" endorsed "Via England" and boxed "NOT PAID" of New York (Hubbard/Winter p. 371 No. 335) and manuscript "4". This cover probably left aboard the "North-Star" of the Vanderbilt Line July 31, arr. Southampton Aug. 13 and then perhaps by the long route via Cape as private captains letter. Arrival double arc type "HONG KONG 16 MR 1859", which means 226 or 239 days in transit. - Long description in german enclosed.

Manila to Spain: 1869, two covers with QV 1865 24 C. resp. 48 C. single franks canc. B62 to Bilbao, endorsed "via Gibraltar", with senders hs. "RUSSELL&STURGIS / MANILA", HK transits of Feb. 7 and Feb. 22. The 48 C. cover additionally shows a large vermilion "12 R." (reales) rate mark. Both covers faults, cover sections with the stamps had been removed and were repositioned. Great cover pair, franked Hong Kong covers to Spain before 1880 are elusive. - Both unlisted in Gurevitch (2017).

1875 Marine-Sorther datestamp "HONG-KONG MARINE-SORTER/SINGAPORE-TO-HONGKONG/SP 19/27 75" in blue (this subtype (d) was the only sorter to use blue ink from July '74 to July '76), used on reverse of cover from Calcutta (28 Aug. 1875) to Hongkong via Bombay '6 Sep 1875', carried by the "Tibre" to Gallé and by the "Teheran" to Singapore (19 Sep.) and Hongkong (26 Sep.). The cover franked by India 1866 4a. blue-green tied "B/1", and with Calcutta and Bombay datestamps alongside. A superb strike of the Hong-Kong Marine-Sorter datestamp in blue.
