1900 Cover to USA per "USS Don Juan De Austria", 10c Victoria tied on envelope by Canton AU 29 00 c.d.s., ms. "J.J. Bryan / U.S.S. Don Juan de Austria" at upper left, backstamped NY City and Binghamton NY, stamp and cover faults/ repairs, Fine use from this US Navy gunboat which which was stationed at Hong Kong June-October 1900 during the "Boxer Rebellion" period in China, the ship previously flew the flag of Spain and was sunk in 1898 by Adm Dewey's forces at Manila Bay and was subsequently raised and repaired before being commissioned as a US Navy warship. .
