(19.1.66) adjacent and "Hong Kong/C" grey-blue c.d.s. (29.11) on reverse, "21/cents" credit h.s. (U.K. to U.S.A.), rated "1/9½" and "1[d.]" (colonial charge), 4c. adhesive straight edge at left and 30c. scissors trimmed perfs. at top, a very fine and delightful tricolour franking to the U.S. and one of the finest known of the only approximately 18 "Amoy/Paid" covers recorded, from the Culbertson correspondence (45c. rate to U.S.A. via Southampton, paid by 46c. in stamps in the absence of the issuance of odd-denomination stamps). S.G. Z9, Z12, Z15.
