Great Britain, 1840, 1d, Mulready letter sheet SG Spec ME1f (Forme 2, Stereo A17), uprated to the 2d per 1oz rate with an additional four margin 1 d black Pl.1a, both neatly cancelled by crisp red MCs, sent originally from TOTTENHAM to WAKEFIELD, upon arrival the letter was readdressed to TOTTENHAM, the postage being prepaid in cash as indicated by a red manuscript 2 at upper left, dispatch cds WAKEFIELD MY 29 1840 and a LONDON PAID tombstone arrival for the 30th on obverse, backstamped with LONDON dispatch cds for the 27th, a WAKEFIELD arrival for the 28th and LONDON arrival for the 30th, ex Meroni and Mayflower, only 2 such franking recorded on this date, very rare, cert, BPA, very rare MAY DATE usage, XF!
