1864 (Aug 24) cover to Queensland, Australia endorsed "Via Marseilles" with Small Uncoloured Corner Letters 4d vermilion & 1/- green pairs tied by superb BN '706' of 'SHIPSTON-ON-STOUR' (very fine b/s), Brisbane transit of OC18/1864 & Ipswich arrival b/s, docketed at U/L "Arrived by Madras at Sydney 16.10.64...", minor defects hardly detract from the stunning appearance.

1905 (Dec) 'Christmas Greetings' Tuck postcard sent locally within Manchester with KEVII ½d tied by largely-fine strike of the experimental 'POSTED IN ADVANCE/ M.R. / 1905 /FOR DELIVERY ON XMAS DAY' oval h/s, couple of very minor blemishes. [In 1902, Manchester-area post offices began a trial to allow items for local delivery on Christmas day to be handed-in the week before, so as to give postal staff time to sort and prepare these; special cancellations were introduced to notify recipients that the delay was intentional; the experiment ran until 1909, but lack of uptake by the public led to its demise the following year]

1911 (Sep 9) Coronation Flight postcard in greenish-black to Napier (New Zealand) on the first day of flights with KGV ½d tied 'FIRST UNITED KINGDOM / AERIAL POST / SE9 / 1911 / LONDON/ 3 ' cds, a few corner creases & blemishes. It is reported that only 41 cards were sent to New Zealand: no doubt very few were flown on the first day.
