A good album page in any QEII collection! - Machin 10/- & £1 on registered cover to New Zealand from Ripley, accompanied by a letter from a collector to the Head Postmaster in Derby, asking him to give an indication as to the year of the postmark(which only shows day & month). The reply, from the Personnel Department at Derby Head Post Office states that their (registration number) records only go back as far as 1975 - 'however our educated guess would be 1965' !!?? One would expect an Official of the Post Office to notice that these stamps were not issued until March 1969. Especially as the writer mentions this in his letter to the Post Office!!
