HORSESHOE ROUTE With Italy entering WWII in June 1940 all routes across the Mediterranean were suspended. African routes were Cairo-Durban & then by ship to UK. Eastern routes to Australia went via Singapore until the fall of Singapore in February 1942. At which point the route stopped at Calcutta. Naivasha-Durban, 10c x 3 & 1/- of KUT tied with Nairobi 16 Feb 41 cds cancels. On plain cover. Air Mail label top left. Addressed to Salisbury UK. No markings on the reverse. With notes {C} [US6] (Start Price / Minimum Bid) = £24.80)
