1747 (Sep 16) Official letter from Paris, "The latest news from London announces the English have projects to make an attempt on our coasts and envoys went to Jersey and Guernsey to recruit garrisons and a complete regiment of Infantry ..... seems to indicate an expedition will be made on the coast of lower Normandy ..... by on your guard and watch out ...... we must give some help to Normandy if this province is about to be attacked". An interesting letter from the War of the Austrian Succession, not posted.
