Falkland Islands: Collection of covers, cards and ephemera in five albums, much ex Lehmann collection, relating to pre-Conflict relationship with Argentina, the 1982 Conflict and subsequent British military presence, with 1933 to H.M.S. “Dauntless” at Mar del Plata franked Centenary 1d., 4d., 1933 to Buenos Aires franked Centenary 11/2d. pair and 1952 O.H.M.S. to Mendoza, both taxed, H.M.S. “Endurance” with ship, Joint Services Expedition and other cachets, 1982 Conflict with (Apr. 14) to Switzerland signed by Military Governor Menendez bearing Argentine issues with Shipwrecks 13p., 25p. and 26p. crossed by biro lines, delayed and returned mail, incoming to servicemen, Argentine military mail with 11p., 13p., 18p. and Encotel prepaid aerogrammes, recapture of South Georgia with (Apr. 25) to London, signed Capt. Nunn with “M” Company cachet, later with Task Force and later Forces Mail to 1990 with many cachets, F.P.O. datestamps and other markings, some signed, commemorative and propaganda items.

Falkland Islands: 1939 Battle of the River Plate, 1942 (Apr. 9), (May 7) and 1943 (Jan. 12) three Argentine Naval Ministry parole slips (‘furloughs’) individually signed by Ob.Feldw. Hann Bruenmel, Ob.Stck.Mstr Herrmann Ernst and Stbs.Ob.Mexh(A) Benno Dietrich from the “Graf Spee” interned on Isla Martín García, each with “Kriegsmarine/Kommando Panzerschiff Admiral Graf Spee” cachet in violet, black and blue-green respectively. Between April 1940 and the end of 1941, all but six of the Graf Spee officers, and about 200 technical NCOs, absconded from internment and returned to Germany where the majority served in the U-boat Arm.
