Falkland Islands Dependencies: South Shetlands: THE PORT FOSTER OVERPRINT, Falkland Islands and Dependencies Wireless Telegram form, this the original telegram dated “6/3” sent by the Falkland Islands Postmaster to the Magistrate, South Shetlands authorising the use of the Port Foster handstamp, “Governor sanctions letters being/obliterated words Port Foster stamp used./Must be returned to post office on return of/Hektoria”, folded and with trivial peripheral imperfections. Ex Nabarro, whose 1947 note on reverse confirms “Miss M. Carey, the present/P.M.G. of the Falkland Islands/informs me that this telegram/is in the handwriting of/Mrs. Sullivan, who was/at that time (1912-13)/in charge of the telephone/office.”.
