6d DULL-LILAC & RARE BIRKENHEAD SPOON CANCEL: A very fine example with 4 clear margins tied with a fine 18 JY. 1855 "BIRKENHEAD/74" scarce Spoon cancellation (only in use 15 months). Used to pay the ½oz. rate via Halifax on an env. to Canada with a "1" hs the credit to Canada and "2½" currency postage due. SG59 £1000 used off cover. Exhibition quality.
