Pictorial tied by cachet “LOOSE SHIP’S LETTER/POSTED AT/MACQUARIE ISLAND/ (penguin)/S.Y. AURORA/A.A.E.” and cancelled on arrival by Hobart Dec. 21 1911 c.d.s. having been carried back by the supply vessel “Toroa” which had accompanied the expedition as far as Macquarie Island, apparently commercial but with receiving endorsement “Posted without contents/(initials)/21.12.11”, creasing at foot and vertical fold at left.
