British Antarctic Territory 1971 (14 Feb) Cover to Australia with mss notation "last day of issue", and bearing all issues to £1 HMS Endurance (ex £1 Map) tied by multiple strikes of 'SIGNY ISLAND/SOUTH ORKNEYS' cds, and boxed 'SIGNY/ISLAND' cachet on reverse. [This was the last day for the use of £sd adhesives. The next day the Decimal surcharges were introduced.] (Image1)
