1853 ANCHOR WMK. 1d deep brick red on deep blued and blued paper. 4d deep blue and blue (2). Fair used examples. Also 1855-63 Perkins Bacon 1d brick red (m/s cancellation), 4d pale rose lilac, 6d slate purple and 1/- deep dark green. 1863-64 De La Rue 4d deep blue, 4d blue, 6d bright mauve and 1/- bright emerald green. 1871-1904 THE MINT/UNUSED STOCK: The duplicated mint/unused stock of mainly cabled anchor wmk issues includes 1884-90 1d block of 36, 2d marginal block of ten from the foot of the sheet. 1891 2½d on 3d (17), 1893 1d on 2d (17). 1893-1902 ½d (18) & 1d (45, inc. a block of 24)). 1900 1d (17). 1902-04 ½d (10), 1d (22, inc a block of four), 2d (11, inc. a block of four), 2½d (11, inc. a block of four), 3d (7, inc. a block of four), 4d (6), 6d (2) & 1/- (5). TRANSVAAL/C.G.H. COMBINATION 6d+6d FRANKING COVER TO G.B. VIA CAPE TOWN; 12 May 1879 env. to London ex "LYDENBURG/Z.A.R./ZUID AFRIKA" (cds on front) franked with both CGH 6d Lilac (fault at top - cancelled by same 27 May Cape Town transit cds as is struck alongside so clearly belongs) and Transvaal 6d Black tied by an unclear 3-ring Numeral, also having a very fine red London "PAID" cds (19 June) on the front.
