POSTAL HISTORY: 1941 envelope addressed to 'Lt J. S. Manning, England, endorsed 830 SQDN/c/o HMS "ST ANGELO" (crossed out), 'not 830' and 'Not RAF', and forwarded to 'R.N. Air Station, Dekheila, Egypt', cancelled by Barbados machine ds for '22 AUG' and with 'Postage stamp lost/in transit.' boxed hs in purple over the top, the front with white label 'RETURN TO SENDER/Please note the addressee is now a prisoner of war' and cancelled with 'ADMIRALTY, WHITEHALL' cachet in red, and boxed 'UNDELIVERED FOR REASON STATED/RETURN TO SENDER' in purple. A fine and most fascinating envelope ? ? Note: John Samuel Manning, a Barbadian, survived the war and was awarded a D.S.O. in Malta in 1942 flying in a Fairey Fulmar for the Fleet Air Arm. (Image)

1892 unissued 3d colour imperforate trial collection with Key plate in slate-black and duty in olive-brown, blue, ultramarine, and purple-brown (4). Key plate in grey with duty in brown, red-orange, and purple-brown (3). Key plate in brown with duty in brown, green, and black (3). Key plate in red-brown with duty tablets in magenta, violet, green, brown, orange, and red-brown (6).
