AUSTRALIA, Tasmania, H&G C5, 1907 Ultramarine, Melbourne printing, 100x64mm, addressed to "Deputy Commissioner of Taxes/ Launceston" and franked with 2d Hobart View (2) paying the double-rate, two light strikes of 'Holwell/ Tasmania/ /AP 11 05" cancel (rated "R"), backstamped Beaconsfield transit and Launceston arrival, additional endorsment on the reverse "Coin 2/6" which explains both the double rate and the (repaired) tear at the base, a bit soiled. still Fine and the earliest recorded date of use, the Beaconsfield transit is dated 10th April - obviously the postmaster had forgotten to change the day slug; McNamee records just seven used examples; ex-McNamee (Image)
