1939 Indian Ocean Survey Flight per Flying Boat Guba addressed to Burns Philp Tulagi, British Solomons, cover originating at Port Moresby via Rose Bay (NSW) thence to Mombasa via Cocos with very fine 'C&W Ltd/12JUN39/COCOS' transit datestamp and Seychelles, registered at Kisumu (Kenya) for the return flight, signed by four crew members Archbold, Rogers, Yancey & Booth. Cover slightly reduced on reverse and some condition issues. Still attractive and rare. (Image1)

Indian Army FPO 46 1945 use of formular air letter, headed 'SECURITY: - THINK - BEFORE YOU WRITE!!', to UK with good strike of 'FPO/No 46/21AUG45' datestamp, the letter headed "37/13 Ind HAA Regt 1A/SEAC" with fine strike of 'UNIT CENSOR/R.722' handstamp in violet used at Cocos. [On completion of the Cocos airstrip in March 1945, the garrison had built up to approx 5,000 personnel including contingents from the Royal Indian Air Force plus Indian and Sinhalese ground troops] (Image1)

Royal Air Force PO 301 1945 (Nov 3) usage of formular air letter with a very fine strike of the 'RAFPOST 301' datestamp, the letter headed "Section B/RAF Station Cocos", The writer states 'The sun still shines on the Cocos Islands" and "the climate here is the best to be found in the Far East" & "Mail is still uncertain...", some mild spotting. [On completion of airstrip in March 1945, RAF squadrons '99' & '356' were relocated from the India-Burma region to Cocos, mail was serviced by RAF Post 301 datestamp] (Image1)
