THREE STOCK BOOKS with the large collection of mainly KGV-early QEII mint & used issues with duplication of many better types. Amongst earlier material we note used Seahorses incl. 10/- used x 3, KGVI 1938 'Arms' sets of 6 both mint (10/- dark blue unmounted) and used, 1951 Festival sets both mint & used, RSW £1 mint (6, incl. block of 4) and used, etc. Much early QEII with early Wildings in 'green', 'blue' & 'violet' phosphor sets and the 1959 2d brown phosphor-graphite error of wmk SG 605a unmounted mint (£200). Other interesting QEII items noted incl. 1960 3d violet Wilding Cyl. 41 no dot block of 28 showing "Phantom R" SG 615aa, 1965 Parliament 2/6d with scarce inv. wmk. variety SG 664Wi (£60) & 1963 Shakespeare 6d mint var. phosphor on reverse (unlisted). 1840-1970 MINT & USED COLLECTION: An album containing a basic, general collection with much of the QV section in very mixed condition. Includes 4 margin 1840 1d black SH (plus 7 damaged examples!) & 3 margin 1840 2d blue with complete black MX; 1841 1d red imperfs. (75), 1841 2d blues (28, majority are sub-standard), 1854-57 1d red 'Stars' (c.370), 2d blues (8), 1d red 'Plates' (c.550), 1858-69 2d blue 'Plates' (90, incl. poor example optd. "SPECIMEN"), ½d 'bantams' (c.65); representative ranges of surface printed issues with platings of 1864 4d vermilion and 1873-80 2½d rose & 2½d blue. Condition very mixed with many perfins. 1887 Jubilee set mint to 1/- (both types), KEVII defins. to 9d mint and to 5/- used, various QV/KEVII used Officials, then mint & used ranges of KGV (No Seahorses & Arms high vals used only), KGVI defins, QEII Wildings incl. Castles. KGV group includes a good used (light parcel cancel) example of PUC £1 black on small piece, and QEII includes unusual 1957 Scout Jubilee set perfined "B.P." and Scroll insignia by Slopers. 1840-1971 USED COLLECTION - on Windsor pages in SG Sovereign binder with slipcase, inc. 1840 1d black (poor), 1841 1d red (6) & 2d blue (3, inc. fine three margins with MX cancel), perf 1d stars and selection of 1d red plates, 1855 4d carmine (3), 6d lilac (2) & 1/- green, vf 1/- green plate 6, 2/- blue, 1880 1/- orange-brown wmk spray (torn), 1883 5/- rose (2), sparsely filled KEVII-KGV issues, then KGVI to QEII pre-dec. issues approx. 90% complete per the printed pages.
