1860 (Aug. 8) Indianapolis, Ind. to Weissenburg bei Nürnberg, Bavaria. All-over gray shaded Bates House illustrated ad design showing building on cover bearing 1¢ blue (24), 3¢ dull red (26) and two 10¢ green (35) singles, each tied by "Indianapolis, Ind. Aug 8" double-circle datestamps, slightly indistinct red "N.York, Hamb. Pkt. 'Paid 10' Aug 15" credit exchange cds, carried by Hapag Line Saxonia from New York Aug. 15th to Hamburg arriving Aug. 29th, reverse with Hamburg (8.30) transit and Weissenburg (9.1) arrival backstamp; cover and stamp flaws, left 10¢ with lightened ms. cancel, Fine and attractive appearance at the 24¢ "Mistaken" rate, with 2008 P.F. certificate.

It appears the sender reused the left 10¢ stamp to attempt to pay the "mistaken" 24¢ rate.
