PLATE 162 - DB - THE EARLIEST RECORDED USE OF OFFICIALLY PERFORATED STAMPS IN EDINBURGH - 17 Mar. 1854 E to Lancaster, with C1 1d red well-tied by 131 numeral, Edinburgh and LANCASTER cds on/across the flap. Use of perforated stamps outside London mid-March 1854 or earlier is rare; the Edin.
