PLATE 161 - SCARCE PAIR ON COVER TO HOLLAND POSSIBLY PAYING A LATE FEE - 11 July 1854 part E (no side flaps) to Rotterdam with 1d red PD-PE plate 161 pair tied by Aberdeen numerals, ABERDEEN, London and ROTTERDAM cds on the back; charged '40' on arrival indicating it was treated in Holland as fully unpaid - the 2d in stamps being either a 2d late fee or an attempted part payment that wasn't accepted.
