U.S.; General Issues, 1868 Carusi Patent Model Cover, ms. "Should be Millville P.O stamp" (rather than Washington, DC) because model uses Millville, VA as originating post office, small notches out of top and punch hole in cover. Patent for a user personalized cancel, with oval essay illustrating the use of the patent, the user would self-cancel the stamp by writing date and return address on the stamp, the city where the stamp was purchased would be printed on the stamp. Only seven examples are known, all from the same patent submission .
