1847 (Jul. 10) Philadelphia Pa. to Hannover, Germany. Folded letter datelined July 10th with endorsed "New York, Bremen Steamer" at top, instead carried by sailing ship to Bremen, boxed "See Brief." (Vanderlinden 2554, scarcity 6) and "America/über Bremen" handstamps, Bremen (9.23) transit backstamp and red crayon "5" grote due rating (1 11/12), Hanover added 2ggr domestic for red ms. "3 11/12" ggr final due rating, Very Fine, ex-Boettger.
