POSTAL HISTORY: 1941 (Feb 22) wrapper with imprinted 'Drucksache' (= Printed Matter) + tri-lingual imprinted Luftpost 'label' and 'Mit Luftpost/über Südamerika' h/s in rosine, 'Lest/Das Illustrierte Blatt/...' meter slogan rated 8mk65pf, to Pennsylvania again unusually without censorship. Rare. [Flights via Portugal were subject to British censorship at Bermuda so the huge airmail surcharge - an extraordinary fee for Printed Matter - was apparently to avoid censorship by taking advantage of South America's version of the Horseshoe Route Frankfurt-Rome-Seville then per LATI Rio de Janeiro-Buenos Aires where it connected with the 'Latin' service to Lima-Cristobal-Mexico City-New York! On 28.12.1941, Brazil declared war on Italy (who knew!?). A similar item to New York, also rated 8mk65pf, sold at our auction of 29.3.2008 for $1281]
