Germany: The Hof-Post: 1876 envelope bearing 1875-79 10pf. carmine horizontal pair cancelled by manuscript "Gr. Mutzelberg 16/3", addressed to "S.M.S Medusa, Berlin, Hof-Postamt", fine. The hof-post served as a collection and distribution point for mail to and from the armed forces from the 19th century until around 1897. The corvette S.M.S.
