POSTAL HISTORY: 1941 (June) wrapper with imprinted 'Drucksache' (= Printed Matter) + tri-lingual imprinted Luftpost 'label' and 'Mit Luftpost/über Südamerika' h/s in rosine, 'Lest/Das Illustrierte Blatt/...' meter slogan rated 8mk65pf, to Pennsylvania again unusually without censorship. Rare. [Flights via Portugal were subject to British censorship at Bermuda so the huge airmail surcharge - an extraordinary fee for Printed Matter - was apparently to avoid censorship by taking advantage of South America's version of the Horseshoe Route Frankfurt-Rome-Seville then per LATI Rio de Janeiro-Buenos Aires where it connected with the 'Latin' service to Lima-Cristobal-Mexico City-New York! A similar wrapper to New York, also rated 8mk65pf, sold at our auction of 29.3.2008 for $1281. Also included here is a similar usage of 22.2.1941 with the meter slogan rated 1mk05pf, to Pennsylvania presumably flown via Portugal & Bermuda to New York &, unusually for that route, without censorship] (Qty 2)
