1914: 4 d on 30 Pfg with overprint variety: "Comma instead point behind I of GRI" unused copy (gum repaired) of this this rarity. This stamp comes from the famous Bute Collection. Until now the only known copy of this variation on this denomination. A invaluable rarity. 1914, "2 Shillings." on 2 Mark steel blue, with a clear double overprint (1 mm shifted to the left), in outstanding quality, on a white envelope. The stamp is tied with a perfect old German cancel "APIA (SAMOA) 10/11/14". From this extremely rare variety only one unused copy and this cover are known. It is one of the most important rarities of G.R.I.. A invaluable collector's itemand unique classic! Provenance: Ex Bute Collection. Certificate Holcombe.
