Cover Signed "Curtis E. LeMay" as Commanding General of the XXI Bomber Command, APO 234, August 4, 1945. Just days later, LeMay's bombers would unleash their deadliest weapons, atomic bombs, on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, bringing the world war to a close.
