Mexico, 1856, First Issue, 4r red, Guanajuato. In combination with 1856, 1r yellow + 2r yellow green, Guanajuato on folded letter sheet to Guadalajara, all tied by two light strikes of 1856 Guanajuato cds's (Schatzkes 476); missing bottom flap, Very Fine, an attractive and scarce three-color franking.

Mexico, 1856, First Issue, 8r red lilac, defaced reproduction plate. Copper engraved printing plate showing a single very similar image of 1856-61, 8 reales issues, with M.E.P.S.I. certificate stating that it is of unknown origin and not the original government plate as it differs from the original stamp, this plate does not appear to be the one used for common reprints or known forgeries, so maybe it was produced for printing catalogs, albums or for training engravers, design shows a crossing line at center, includes two recent prints in black from the plate, Very Fine, a very unusual item that would be an interesting and eye-catching addition to a specialized collection or exhibit, with 2020 M.E.P.S.I. certificate.

Bottom portion of stamp, tied by boxed Monterrey date stamp (Schatzkes 860) on 1861 folded letter sheet to San Luis Potosi, Very Fine and choice, one of the finest of the six examples recorded from this district, with 2019 M.E.P.S.I. certificate.

Steel engraved printing plate showing a single very similar image of the essays without denomination of the 1864 Hidalgo issue, with M.E.P.S.I. certificate stating that it is of unknown origin and not the original A.B.N.Co. plates which printed the original stamp, this plate does not appear to be the one used for known forgeries, so maybe it was produced for printing catalogs, albums, training engravers or advertising, design shows a crossing line at center, includes four recent prints in black from the plate, Very Fine, a very unusual item that would be an interesting and eye-catching addition to a specialized collection or exhibit, with 2020 M.E.P.S.I. certificate.
