Reconstructed complete sheet of 90, comprised of top pane of 45 in the lemon yellow shade and bottom pane of 45 in the yellow shade, constant prominent flaws include position 66 with colorless line in bottom right spandrel, position 71 with colorless line through "REAL" and positions 83 & 90 with lower right corner damaged; small closed tear in position 8 and minor flaws, complete sheet of 90, F.-V.F., a very scarce reconstruction, with only two complete sheets known, with 2015 Moorhouse certificate.

In combination with 1865, 1r yellow buff, three singles, all petit cut on fresh 1871 folded letter from Guayaquil to Lima, Peru, carried at the double external rate not exceeding ½ oz. for an American destination, tied by neat "Franca" in dotted lozenge handstamps of Guayaquil, Extremely Fine, ex-Olgieser.

Bottom left portion of stamp in combination with 1865, 1r yellow on folded letter sheet to Lima, Peru, tied by "Guayaquil, 8 Dic, 68" cds's with clear receiving postmark on reverse, the 1½r franking underpays the 2r single external rate up to ¼ oz. and apparently was accepted or overlooked by the postal clerk who dispatched the cover, Very Fine.

Positions 24/33/42 (middle stamp broken frameline at right variety) and 51/60/69/78, margins large to just in, canceled by "Latacunga" provisional box cancels on oversized Judicial wrapper to Riobamba, red crayon "14 oz" weight notation, Very Fine and choice, this Latacunga pre-adhesive postmark was used during the first half of 1865, fewer than ten recorded usages of this provisional handstamp used as a cancelling device.

ONE OF TWO PRIVATE CORRESPONDENCES KNOWN BEARING SAME DENOMINATION OF THE 1865 1 REAL STAMPS IN GREEN AND YELLOW.

Only five covers are known bearing same denomination 1 real represented by the different stamps in the issued colors green and yellow. This cover is even more remarkable as it represents private mail and that the 1r green is the scarce embossed arms variety.

A WONDERFUL AND POSSIBLY UNIQUE COVER FROM THE 1897 THE WEBSTER-HARRIS EXPEDITION TO THE GALAPAGOS ISLAND.

In 1897, Walter Rothschild (2nd Baron Rothschild) approached Frank Blake Webster to organize a collecting trip on the Galapagos Islands. Webster gathered taxidermists and naturalists, including Rollo Beck, to collect Galapagos tortoises and land birds. Webster, however, would state in the states, but the expedition is still called the Webster-Harris expedition by scholars. However, Webster's group discovered the flightless cormorant, which Rothschild named after taxidermist Charles Miller Harris, a member of the expedition.

(662) covers from Beta Air Base on Seymour Island, host of later covers and cards, stamps including Ecuador 1922 20c Galapagos Island unissued stamp used (few were entered into the postal system) and 1965 revenue issues in singles and blocks, Very Fine overall, an excellent collection and truly ideal for further continuation.
