ARGENTINA: 1931 (June 15) registered cover from Sydney to Buenos Aires endorsed "Per Pan American Airways/ Miami-Cuba-Porto Rico/Argentine/Air Mail" with 2d 3d x2 & Kingsford Smith 6d, New York (11th July) & Miami (9th July) transit b/s & indistinct Buenos Aires arrival, superb 'CERTIFICADOS/258/CENTRAL' h/s on the face. [There was no gazetted rate from Australia until 1934. The rate paid appears to have been 3d foreign letter rate via London (?) to Miami + 8d airmail Miami-Argentina + 3d registration]
BARBADOS: 1937 (Oct 12) all-up air endorsed "Australia-London-British West Indies via USA" with KGV 1d & 4d + Hermes No Wmk 1/6d pair tied by Melbourne cds, 'BARBADOS/8NOV/1937/GPO' machine arrival b/s. [Neither Walker nor Breckon list pre-1942 rates to Barbados. However, to Trinidad, the rate for all-up air was 3/5d. Ted Proud states that airmails were off-loaded at Trinidad, then sent by sea to Barbados]
BRAZIL: 1940 (Feb 27) bank cover endorsed 'Per China Clipper' with 1d 6d & Kangaroo 2/- x2 tied by 'PERTH/WA' cds, Rio de Janeiro b/s of 20/MAR/40, minor creasing & soiling. The rate of 4/7d (or 4/6d + 1d late fee) doesn't conform to any of the several rates recorded by Breckon and Walker.
BRITISH GUIANA: 1931 (Apr 13) registered cover from Sydney to Georgetown endorsed "Per SMS Ventura" & "Per USA/Air Mail" with rare franking of KGV SMult Watermark Perf 14 1/4d (Cat $1500 on cover) + 3d Airmail, San Francisco Atlanta & Miami transit b/s & 'AIR MAIL GPO/13MY31/BRITISH GUIANA' cds which suggests it was also flown Miami-Georgetown, some creasing that just impinges on the 1/4d. [There was no gazetted rate from Australia until 1934. The rate paid appears to have been 2d Empire letter rate + US airmail surcharge 7d x2 + 3d registration = 1/7d]
CHINA: 1937 (Dec 17) to Shanghai endorsed by air "Aust-Singapore" with KGV 4d olive + Small Kookaburra 6d tied by Brisbane cds, Shanghai machine with Chinese slogan on the face, light wrinkling. [A 3-tier rate applied: 10d air to Singapore; 1/- air to Hong Kong; or 2/- all-up air]
CZECHOSLOVAKIA: 1938 (Oct 17) 'Australia-Greece-Czechoslovakia' at 2/1d all-up rate with Kangaroo 2/- + Koala 4d tied by 'REGISTERED/SYDNEY NSW' cds, superb Athens transit b/s & Greek currency control h/s on the face, two different Prague arrival b/s.
FIJI: 1941 (Dec 15) with Hermes 1/6d tied by Sydney slogan, Clipper h/s in black, superb 'P.O./24DEC41/LAUTOKA- FIJI' arrival b/s. [An anomaly. The Clipper service was suspended immediately after Pearl Harbor was attacked on 7.12.1941. Mail intended for the USA or beyond was held at or returned to Sydney and forwarded via the 'Horseshoe' Route. However, the suspension was publicly announced only on 18th December. It is possible that this cover was forwarded by sea from Auckland instead of being first returned to Sydney]
FINLAND: 1937 via London at 1/9d rate with jusqu'a h/s in black, & 1936 via Greece - b/s - to Finland at 2/3d all-up rate, both with 'KUOPIO' arrival b/s. Nice duo.

[An additional 3d stamp affixed to the reverse was overlooked at both ends of the journey]
GERMANY: GERMANY: 1935 PPC with Kangaroos 9d + Jubilee 2d tied by Sydney 'AIR MAIL/SAVES TIME' slogan & a rather redundant cds, light stains. [The rate was 11d for air to Italy then by train, or 1/1d for all-up air via Greece]
