Advanced collection of Post Office & Stamped To Order issues with numerous scarce/rare items throughout especially STO types including QV Embossed ½d+4d and 1/-+1/- both unused, 1d illustrated for Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk to NZ (the example illustrated by Jan Kosniowski), 1½d for The Oil & Colourman's Journal (the example illustrated by Kosniowski), QV ½d - not listed by Kosniowski - & KGV ½d with different illustrations for Crosse & Blackwell's Prices Current, KEVII ½d uncatalogued variant for Illustrated Catholic Missions, KGV ½d+1d for The Royal Colonial Institute, QEII 2d+½d for Liverpool Daily Post & Echo (Cat £200) and 2d+5d & 5d+5d both with Strip-Easy opener (superb unused); a good range of WH Smith & Son types with unused including QV ½d+3d, ½d+4d, 2½d+2½d, KEVII ½d+QV 4d, KGV ½d+4d 254mm Wide, 3d 260mm Wide & 6d 340mm Wide and used including QV 1½d Yellow+2d to Chile, 1½d Yellow+3d to Italy, KGV 1½d with printed 'AIR LETTER SERVICE' to Australia in 1938 per EAMS, 6d (+ 6d adhesive) & 9d (+3d adhesive) both by air to Aden, etc; about half of the listed 'STAMFORD MERCURY/742/STAMFORD' pre-cancels including KGVI 1½d brown & 1½d green both unused; etc, many uprated & some good destinations apart from those noted here, condition quite variable which is to be expected with items that were often ripped-open & usually discarded, or which were unusually large/wide & some are fronts only. 'FARLEIGH' STAMPED-TO-ORDER ISSUES: Thirty-two different variants of QEII Pre-Decimal stamps &/or stock of various widths, some with no additional text, others with 'MAGAZINE POST', 'PRINTED PAPER RATE', 'FORCES PRINTED PAPER', 'NEWSPAPERS REGISTERED at the GPO', 'ARTICLES FOR THE BLIND', 'SAMPLE' or 'SAMPLES' at left & all those also with return address of '84 Allerford Road LONDON SE6', a few 'doubletons' included, unused & most are very fine, high catalogue value plus a few that are unpriced.
