FAMOUS PUNCH CARTOON OF SIR JAMES GRAHAM AS "PAUL PRY AT THE POST OFFICE"; July 1844 Punch magazine print (180 x 247mm; cut to neatly fit album page; glued onto page at left) showing Sir James Graham peering into the end of a sealed envelope surrounded by discarded (presumably opened) letters! Fine Reform Campaign item that is often illustrated but rarely seen in this original form. [A similar example in Cavendish's June 2012 auction, lot 920, realised £300.] (Image)

THE POST-OFFICE PEEP-SHOW CARTOON + PUNCH'S ANTI-GRAHAM ADVERTS, ETC.; July 1844 cartoon from the Punch magazine (glued to page at left) depicting Sir James Graham offering bystanders a look inside a model of the London Post Office building at 1d a time, a pair of different July 1844 cuttings from Punch listing the mottoes on the newly published "ANTI-GRAHAM WAFERS", a number of other related 1844 Punch cuttings and a group of illustrations of the inquisitive Postmistress in Scott's novel looking inside a sealed letter.
